Clayton and Brevard, and Virginia, December 21st and 22nd #20

Clayton and Brevard, December 21st and 22nd

After our chaotic day in Atlanta, we decided to pop in on one of my dads old friends; Sarah. It was an impromptu visit and she was so happy to see us! She said, and I quote, "this is the best Christmas gift ever!" I think that my dad agrees. Its always a blast to see old friends.  She's 6'2" and we really connected over the height thing!

Her house was amazing and while we were there, Annalee decided that Sarah's house should be what we model our house on. We also played Left Right Center with her, and an Uno game that took way to long!! Then, we watched Dolphin Tale!! That is such a great movie, mainly because I've seen it a thousand times!

The next morning, we woke up to Ziggy and Buddy, her dog, needing a pee break and had lots of fun playing outside and she also decided to come and camp with us.

We drove up to Gorges State Park on a super steep windy road (which was hard for Dad and Charlene) and went on a hike there, to some gorgeous falls! After that, we found our campground, went to town in Sarah's car, and found a bookstore and fun dinner restaurant. I didn't get a really good book, but that's okay, they can't all be good.  After that, we went in the hot tub! It was really nice!! The next morning we got up and Sarah had already headed down the mountain. Thanks again Sarah!!

We hot-tubed some more while dad finished working and then went on what ended up being the final ride of the trip, at Dupont State Forest.  We did a trail called Ridgeline which was amazing.  We were starving after and found a TacoBus which was sooo delicious.

this is us loving life after Ridgeline

From there our parents surprised us by taking us to a waterpark for the night, Great Wolf Lodge in Charlette NC.
The next day we waterparked some more and then began the 12 hours to home.

We drove through Winston Salem which is called "Camel City" after cigarettes.  They do have good BBQ there!  We spent our final night at a campsite outside Roanoke, VA where we had our first campfire of the whole trip!

The last day was a race to home, my parents started driving before we even woke up. We made one quick stop in West Virginia and went to a fun glass shop and then pushed on "like a horse to the barn" my mom kept saying.

As I finish this post up, its the very last day of our trip. So this is probably the last blog post that I will write on our trip! Anyway, I just wanted to say: thanks for taking the time to view our posts! It means a lot to everyone involved when y'all leave comments! Thanks again, Stella
