Biking In Palo Duro Canyon #7
Biking In Palo Duro Canyon
After Thanksgiving, we headed down I40 to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. It was late in the night when we arrived, so we basically just set up camp and went to bed, but we did take a moment to admire the amazing light of the full moon. We also learned that there was no internet from our camp site! This was a big problem, because it was a work day for my dad the next morning! We would have to wake up super early for him to jump on a call a 8AM eastern time, but 7AM our time! Lucky for us, there was a place nearby, called The Trading Post, that had Wi-Fi. So we drove over there at 6:40AM so dad could start work and we could start school. We also learned that The Trading Post served ice cream, really yummy breakfast sandwiches, and hot cocoa! The cocoa was perfect when it was 20 degrees out! It was freezing over night, but the sun warmed us up fast. So by noon, we were all done with work and headed out on our bikes. We did a 13 mi ride that day. The trails were wild, full of rock and beautiful views. We rode again the next day and now we are off to visit cousins in Albuquerque, NM.

Funny how you find ice cream almost anywhere for breakfast lunch and dinner. The landscapes are amazing in the pictures you posted. The colors of the sky and the trails are unlike anything you can find here in the Northeast. Views that go on for miles.
ReplyDeleteWow this looks beautiful! I (Carolynn) have never been to that part of TX, Jason has, sounds great. Jason wants to know, did ziggy have ice cream too? Haha
