Atlanta, December 19th #19
Atlanta, December 19th
After Birmingham we drove into Atlanta and took Charlene to a muffler shop to fix the broken muffler.
While it was being fixed we dropped Ziggy off at a doggy daycare. Then we got an Uber to town. First, we went to the Aquarium. (It was apparently the largest in the country.) We explored a small cave-like exhibit, and saw some cool fish. There was actually some spots in the cave exhibit where there were other animals swimming above you, including big fish and alligators. Then we went to a really cool dolphin show, and the dolphins did flips, jumps, and splashed us. They also carried the trainers on their noses and backs. When we got out, we were soaked. Then we looked at some sharks, and learned that you can't keep a Great White in captivity because they need a lot of room to swim.
After, we went to the Coca Cola museum. When we first got in, we were in a room with a lot of old Coke artifacts. There was also a person there that explained what some of the artifacts were. We were supposed to watch a six minute presentation about Coke, but we figured out a way to skip it. Then we created our own flavors and tried them. After making and tasting them we went into a big room where there were Coke products from many different countries. We also tasted just some regular Coke products, like all of the sprite flavors, (which all tasted gross, except for the regular one.) We also tasted a bunch of Minute Maid Lemonade flavors, and more! Then we bought three cups from the museum so we could fill them up with a drink and keep it.
After those places we went to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. There we explored the different things black people had to go through to be treated as equals, including the D.C march, and the Woolworth sit in. It was intense. After going to all those cool places we were hungry so we tried to get three electric scooters to ride to Hard Rock Cafe, but only one of them worked, so we just took turns on the way there. Then we ate and got an Uber to pick up Ziggy and get back to Charlene before the shop closed! Thanks Luis and Poncho at Mighty Muffler for fixing Charlene while we had fun!
