Iowa! #2

 Iowa!

After South Dakota, we headed to visit my dad's cousin Darvin. He couldn't make the funeral because he is recovering from open heart surgery.

On the way we stopped in a little town in Iowa to get lunch and go to Walmart. We found all the stuff we needed at Walmart and then we found a Mexican restaurant that had really good Horchata- a cinnamon rice milk drink. At both places, we noticed the diversity, we were surprised because who thought that a little town in the middle of nowhere would have any diversity!

When we arrived in Meservey, we saw that Darvin was doing great and we stopped to visit and fix a few things in Charlene. We had our first day of 'school' here. It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I sat in the back of the RV on my parents bed, and did my school work on my computer. After 'school' we did our exercise routine, my mom thinks is a great idea but my sister and I just roll our eyes and get 'em done.

Next, we headed out to lunch with my Great Aunt Norma. We had a nice time, but I didn't really like the frozen custard; ice cream is way better. Then, we went Geocaching just to show my Aunt Jamie what it was. A Geocache is an item- size can vary- that someone hides and then enters into an app with its location/ coordinates, then the Geocachers try to find the item so that we can trade with the small trading items inside or just write our names in the log book. We didn't find either of the things we looked for, but we still had fun.

This was the view from this morning, can you see the horses?

  2. Awesome! What a fantastic adventure. Can barely see the horses, but they are probably very well taken care of in that place. Glad to know you can find good Mexican food where you are. Thanks for the photos and the detailed description of your experience. Really enjoying these wonderful updates! -G
