Arriving to Arkansas #3

Arriving in Arkansas
After we left Darvin's we drove south toward Arkansas. Along the way we stopped at a REI to get some missing supplies. We were trying to get to Kansas City for dinner, but we didn't make it.  There would have been plenty of options for food there but only one where we stopped. Lucky for me we found a Made-Right, "home to the loose meat sandwich" which is my favorite sandwich. There was also a Amish convenient store where we got a loaf  of cinnamon bread. Then we headed out, after two more hours of driving we finally found a Cracker Barrel to spend the night. In the morning we went into the store and everyone had eggs and bacon expect for me, I got pancakes. We got on the road again and drove to our campsite where our friend Randy showed use around. My parents met Randy at RAGBRAI this summer and he lives here. He let us borrow his truck which was so generous. Thank you RANDY!

Randy's wife came to pick him up because he lent us his truck.

We all went to dinner at Mexican restaurant called Tacos and Tamales. The tacos were really good! After dinner we went to a Walmart ice cream truck and got one dollar ice cream.  Bentonville is the home to Walmart and this ice-cream truck is in front of where the original 5 and 10 was, but they are renovating it right now.  There are tons of Walmart things here including a Walmart convenience store, the only one in the world!   There was a really small ice cream called a cutie cone and weird French vanilla that was blue.

  2. I bet you are happy to make it to Bentonville now the cycling fun begins. How is Ziggy enjoying the trip? This blog is great. Did the loose meat sandwiches have steamed buns? Vicki told me that’s the authentic was to serve them. You will have to teach me next time we make them.
